Summer Time

Wow, it’s been so long since I have given any kind of update. So much has taken place.

 First, let me say thank you to all who are so diligently praying for us. We both stepped forward to be handed our diplomas the night of May 17^th, 2013. We are so excited to have finished this chapter of our lives. Secondly, since graduation night we have been asked to help start a church with some missionaries in Concord, NH. We will be leaving sometime between now and the end of August. We are so excited!

 I guess you might want to know a little bit about our summer. We just graduated so surely you must be thinking we get a break, time to sit around and do nothing, just taking the summer off right? Wrong! Well, half right. I have more time to sit around than Jordan. He has taken on an internship here in Campbell, OH for the summer, where he has been put in charge of VBS and church camp. VBS went great, and we had a lot of fun! Jordan ran VBS this year where he opened at the beginning of each night and closed at the end and also dealt with any problems there might have been. I was the leader of the preschoolers Monday through Thursday and then spent the last night (Friday) juggling fire for the kids! We had a penny competition which I am proud to say the girls won, whoo hoo which meant that “Bro Jordan” got a pie in the face!

 

 

We just finished our first week of teen camp this past week which has been the best yet (I think)! It was awesome to see the power of God on their lives, as they made decisions to get right, surrender to fulltime service, or just have a better attitude about things. Many believe that God is calling them to be missionaries and pastors! PLT. I can’t wait to see what junior camp has in store!

 

 

 

 Please continue to pray for us as we begin this journey to NH. Also, continue to pray for Jordan as we head to one more week of camp July 29^th-Aug 3^rd. One special prayer request would be that for my brother Noah. This would be the first year that he goes to camp! Pray that the Lord would provide his finances so that he might be able to go!

Tears in the eyes of a servant girl.

I sit here with tears in my eyes as I look at this world and the people in it. I see two side to this spectrum. 

The Lost
Many are poor, many are sick, and it seams that peace is something that cannot be obtained. It's a word that doesn't exist any longer. I look at the anger, the sadness, and loneliness that has taken over the hearts of not just the world, but more specifically my family and loved ones. My heart is broken for them. Look into the eyes of the world for a sec, you know what I see. I see folks longing for answers, I see people who want to know the truth, but don't know where to find it. They turn to drugs and alcohol, hoping to fill this void but as they lay their head on their pillow at night, they feel yet again, emptiness.

The Saved
You know what I see when I look at Christians? I see cowards! People who know the truth, who can help these people, but refurse to give it. Christians who day after day pass by these people and won't share the answer to the question they ask? "What is peace"?  I once heard a man say, "We don't need anymore missionaries in America, what we need is our Christians to start acting like Christians." I heard another man say, "If revival is going to come back to America, it needs to first start in our own hearts."

My Plea
To Christians, please I beg you, take a stand. Look at the world through God's eyes. Love them! Share with them where they can find this peace they are looking for.
To The World, you can stop looking. I have the answer, I can help you.

Well, graduation is only three weeks away. We only have two weeks of actual school left and let me say we are excited! It's been a long journey but I have been blessed. These past three years have been some of the best years of my life. It's at college that God lead me to Jordan, and it's there that we surrendered to go to Ireland. I've learned many lessons both in the class room and out, and have made some friends that will last a life time. Thank you to everyone who helped us out and prayed for us. Thank you Dr Anderson for everything you've done for us. Without you this graduation wouldn't be possible. Thank you professors for taking time out of your own scheduals to teach us and guide us. It's time to turn a new page and begin a new chapter!

Summer Plans
This summer we plan to go to NH, 1) to spend some much needed time with each as husband and wife, 2) we have been given some job oppertunities that will allow us to save and 3) to work along side the bus ministry at my church. At the end of the summer we will head back to OH, move to New Phila. and continue our work there until the Lord leads us on to deputation.

Jordan and I have been married for ten months, and what an awesome ten months it has been. I wouldn't trade any of it for anything. We have been getting to know each and learning what makes each other happy or irritated. We've found ourselves doing this that we said we would never do in front of each other making ourselves out to be crazy haha. It has really been a joy spending time with each other watching movies, and going on dates, making our late night runs to Taco Bell for a midnight snack, dancing, and candlelit diners. I love it all so much.

So what's new since that last time I updated? Well, graduation is right around the corner. There are only a few more weeks of school left, and we are very excited! We are not sure yet as to what we will be doing when we finish, but God will direct. Jordan is still working at Walmart in the deli, "unfortunately" as he would say. I was working for Farmers Insurance during the months of February, but have since then been laid off. 

At our home church we are starting Masters Club for the kiddos, we will be starting that up as soon as we get some things ordered. We have stopped riding on bus because we had some new interns take over and lately we just haven't had enough room! Jordan and I still does nursing home on the 2nd Sunday of every month and for the past couple months we have had a few helpers.  Jordan still preaches every once in a while, and we still sing specials whenever we can. Serving the Lord has been such a joy!

Next week starts our spring break from school. We are both very excited since we are going to spend it in NH. I am very excited to see my family and friends, some of which I haven't seen since the wedding or even before. Please pray that we have safe travels.

I would like to start off by first saying thank you to everyone for all the birthday wishes, and to those who helped make my day special.

As a lot of you know my husband had something up his sleeve, and the only thing I knew was that we were headed for Cleveland which is an hour away from my house. He had the whole day planned, and had been planning this day since November. What a sweetie! This is how my amazing birthday afternoon and evening went:

1st off he bought me a rose, which was beautiful. Probably one of the sweetest roses I have ever seen. I absolutely loved it.

After school we began our little adventure to Cleveland where I finally guessed that we would be ice skating! Ice skating is one of my favorite things to do and was one of the first dates that Jordan and I ever went on. We had a blast.

Then he took me shopping to this huge mall, cause every know this girl loves the mall! So we spent the next couple of hours there going in and out of every store possible to finally walk out with some bubble bath and body lotion. lol :) He was very patient with me.

After the shopping was finally done we were both starving to we went to Buca di BEPPO which is a really really nice Italian restaurant where he had made reservations. The food was amazing!!

We finished dinner and then made our way back to the mall where we played some really sick glow in the dark mini golf! Never played before and it was great! We traveled through polar caves, and the juggle, under the sea and on the moon. It was really neat.

After mini golf we finally made our way back home to finish off with some really yummy ice cream cake. The day couldn't have gone any better. I would have enjoyed just staying home and spending the day with him, but he made it extra special!

"There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go."

Losing someone is a hard thing to go through, especially if this person is a friend or loved one, but it seems like God is the closest when His people are brokenhearted. A couple weeks ago my husband and I lost a friend, his name was Samuel Baer. Sam was craZy! He enjoyed living, and lived life to the fullest. He was going to college to become and art teacher, and in my opinion would have been an amazing one. He was energetic and loved helping people, and had a completely different outlook on life. You see, Sam was an atheist. Jordan worked with him and talked with Him for hours upon hours about Christ and our beliefs. One night he told us, "I like you guys, cause you know what you believe, you aren't fakes, and your not afraid to share it with people." Exactly one week after that Sam took his life accidentally, but he showed me something that I will never forget... When you put God first in your life, that's who people see. He liked us because he could see God in us. He liked us because we weren't afraid to stand firm on what we believe in, Jesus Christ.

I don't understand why God took him so soon. I truly believe that if we had had just a little more time with him he would have given his life to God. But, God doesn't expect us to understand, He only expects us to trust Him. Christians, please please don't be afraid to take a stand, don't be afraid to show others that Christ is who leads your life. People watch! Don't be those phonies that everyone hates. Show them that you have something worth living for!
